The software is a one-time payment — you buy it once and it's yours. Cloud sync is separate and optional. If you want automatic backup and multi-device sync, you can choose: pay a small monthly fee for Z3ymo to host it for you, or set up your own server (which you pay for directly). If you don't need cloud sync at all, there is zero ongoing cost.
